Contests
BU ACM Chapter holds local contests roughly once a month. Our local contests are modeled after the ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC), though our contests are only two hours (rather than the usual five hours). Typically, we offer cash prizes for first, second, and third place.
The two main goals of these local contests are to improve Binghamton CS students' algorithm programming skills in general and to recruit the best and brightest for Binghamton's ICPC team. After each contest ends, we go over each problem and ask the competitors to explain how they solved the problem. We also go over the source code for solutions to the problems, as well as the testcases.
If you plan to compete in one of our local contests, be sure to take a look at the Programming Contest FAQ. You can also find additional resources to help you prepare below.
Also, we recently compiled information about Binghamton's performance in the ICPC over the past five years. Check it out here.
